The difference in one table
| Spotify Wrapped | Instagram Wrapped | |
|---|---|---|
| Exists officially? | Yes, every December | No — no official card built from your posts |
| Built from | Listening history, artists, minutes | Published posts and their counters (likes, saves, comments) |
| Looks like | Animated stories, branded cards | A designed card: nine tiles, totals, palette, a serif line |
| Reality check | Measures taste over time | Measures what your audience did with your posts |
| How to get it | Open the Spotify app in December | Build it with Prevz from your account |
Why the two get confused
Wrapped normalised the idea that a platform owes you a summary of your year. Once that expectation exists, people ask the same question of every app they use — and Instagram is the one where the ritual already existed in another form: the nine-post grid.
The result is a search season: from late November, “instagram wrapped” picks up because people want the Spotify experience for their photos, and find nothing official.
Getting the Instagram equivalent
There is no official button, so the closest thing has to be built. Prevz does it from your own account:
- Connect an Instagram Creator or Business account — optional, read-only, never your password.
- Choose the year and the metric — likes for reach, saves for usefulness, comments for conversation.
- Get the full recap — top 9, totals, monthly rhythm, palette sampled from up to 36 photos.
- Export at 1080 × 1920 (Story) or 1080 × 1350 (Post), signed @prevz_app.
It will not import your Spotify listening data, and it will not post anything for you. The goal is a card about your posts — not a mash-up of two platforms that measure different things.
Questions
Is there an official Instagram Wrapped in 2026?
No. Instagram has experimented with end-of-year features in some regions, but there is no official Wrapped card you can generate from your own posts and share.
Does Prevz read my Spotify data?
No. Prevz only works with the Instagram account you choose to connect, and only to read posts and public counters.
Why is Instagram Wrapped trending if it does not exist?
Because Spotify Wrapped created the expectation. People search for the equivalent, and the community answer is the nine-post recap — which is what most profiles publish in late December.
Which is better, Wrapped or a top nine?
They answer different questions. Wrapped summarises consumption; a top nine summarises what you published and how it was received. If you want a card about your year as a creator, the top nine is the honest one.
